Remembering:
Margaret Ellison
Also known as: Maggie
Maiden Name (Nee): Jones
Year of Birth: 1953
Biography:
I grew up in the seaside town of Whitstable, Kent, and am the daughter of Anthony and Emily Jones, both deceased. After studying English Literature at the University of Sussex, I became a secondary school teacher, imparting my love of reading and poetry with all the students I’ve taught over the years.
I married Pete Ellison, an architect, in 1978, and together we raised two children — Laura and Tom. We live in a cosy semi-detached home near the beach filled with books, laughter, and the smell of my baking.
I’m now retired and divide my time between my beautiful garden, book club, and volunteering at the local library. I love writing short stories, knitting for my grandchildren, and spending time with my lifelong friends.
Pete and I don’t travel as much as we used to, but I absolutely adore the Lake District, and we try to get back there every couple of years.
